1. Introduction

MoneyVote Quest ("MoneyVote Quest", "we", "us", or "our") is an educational platform that helps young people aged 12–16 build financial and civic literacy through immersive simulations. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of every learner, educator, and partner who uses our platform, and we comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable national data protection laws.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account data — name, email address, school or organisation, and role (student, educator, or partner) provided during registration.
  • Gameplay data — in-quest activity such as budget decisions, votes, team membership, XP, and badges earned.
  • Technical data — device type, browser, and basic usage analytics used to keep the service secure and reliable.
  • Communications — messages you send us, including workshop and partnership inquiries.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal data to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the MoneyVote Quest platform and its quests.
  • Track learning progress and present analytics to students and educators.
  • Communicate about workshops, account activity, and important service updates.
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the platform.
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use student data for advertising.

4. Children and Schools

MoneyVote Quest is designed for learners aged 12–16. Where the platform is used in a school setting, we act as a data processor on behalf of the school, which is responsible for obtaining any consent required under applicable law. We collect only the data needed to deliver the educational experience and apply additional safeguards to children's data.

6. Sharing and Disclosure

We share personal data only with:

  • Schools and educators responsible for the learners using the platform.
  • Service providers (such as hosting and infrastructure partners) who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
  • Authorities where required by law.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the service and meet our legal obligations. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.

8. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. You may also withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

9. Data Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit and server-side enforcement of critical actions such as voting — to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
